Nick and Jen - Hayes Street, SF

Nick: "This is inspired by the spirit of the American West."
Jen: "This is inspired by Barbarella."

The revelers were out in full force for SF Lovefest. Jen admitted that though she and Nick dress up more than the average person, they were on their way to join the festivities.

Alex, Alex, and Sara - Buchanan Street, SF

Alex: "Summer of Love."
Alex: "Lovefest."
Sara: "Cubensis and colors."

I spotted these colorfully attired ladies celebrating San Francisco's Annual Lovefest.

Yepo - Divisadero Street, SF

"I come from France. I bought this from a thrift(store) in France and I wear it with sportswear."

I like his combo, of warm colors (orange, yellow, tan) and his velvet jacket.

Edward - Duboce Avenue, SF

I like how he wears a 70s era button down with a suede v-neck vest. It's also refreshing to see guy wear slacks instead of jeans. (Though we're definitely a jeans type of town.)

Jessie - Divisadero Street, SF

"Actually, I'm not sure. I wear whatever I want."

I really like her 3/4 length houndstooth coat, check out how the belt/clasp looks at the waist line.

A look at her pointy white flats. I like that the toes angle up ever so slightly.

Lorraine - 18th Street, SF

I like how she wears her shorts with tights, so they look more like what we used to call knickers when I was growing up in the 80s. And the matchy person in me likes that her shoes and blouse are the same color.

A look at her shoes. If Lorraine looks familiar, it's because we've taken photos of her before.

Marcia and Suzy - Market Street, SF

Marcia: "I think what inspires my personal style and my outfit is just mixing great vintage pieces with modern pieces."
Suzy: "This outfit is inspired by flirty, feminine and a little bit sassy with the color of the bag and shoes."

I really like their ladylike outfits, especially Suzy's skirt (look at those pockets). They both do a great job at accessorizing, look at Suzy's earrings and the cuff and pendant Marcia is wearing.

A peek at that aforementioned colorful handbag.

Pear and Pat - Market Street, SF

Pat: "I don't know. I wear what I like, I guess."
Pear: "Me too."

I love her intricately crocheted (?) top and her lovely shoes. I like how they're both casually put together.

Vivian - 18th Street, SF

"This outfit I actually just purchased one day after work (last winter) when I was shopping and I just didn't feel like wearing my work clothes - I was going out to eat - so I was 'I'm gonna buy what's on sale'. And I kind of assembled it, that's how I came up with this: the belt, the dress, and I went to a drugstore and bought the tights and I just happen to be wearing the shoes. That's how I completely put together this outfit. "

I like how the cream accent of her belt and shoes inject a little oomph into her outfit of mostly navy blue and black. I also admire how she easily wears tights with her sandals, I have this personal fear of doing it wrong, so it's nice to see how it can work well.

Raymoin - Church Street, SF

"To be different. Me and my cousin came up with it. He did it first, just with the single tie. I just put two of them together."

I'm intrigued by the way he layered his vest, polo shirt and button down. I also like how he made his tie a chubby short double tie.

A look at his trainers.

Andrew - Market Street, SF

"Well I work for Club Monaco, so that's what I'm wearing today. Typically I dress like this, except with jeans, shirts and ties. Sort of business casual."

It's all in the small details, the pulled up cardigan sleeves with the cuffs clearly revealed and a tie that rests just above the belt line. I think he does a great job of straddling the business casual line.

Ashley - Market Street, SF

"Pretty much whatever I throw together. I like thrift store and vintage stuff."

I like the rose-hued colors of her blouse and skirt, especially how it looks with the 3/4 camel coat.

Anna - Market Street, SF

"Depends on my mood for the day."

I love appliqué and embroidery on clothes, anything that shows an element of handiwork makes my heart skip a beat. She looks very lovely in her finery.

Closeup of the detail on her Vera Wang skirt, gorgeous embroidery.

Christine - Market Street, SF

"I just like color that's just about it. I don't think about anything when I put something on, if I like it I wear it."

I like that a dress and cardigan can still look fresh when awash in color.

Viviana and Monica - Market Street, SF

Viviana:"My inspiration is myself. I mean today I can be like this and tomorrow I can be any other different style depending on what I feel."
Monica:"We love fashion and we wear what we feel is going to make us look good. Today in San Francisco, this is the look."

I love Viviana's pants and shoes and Monica's sweater and shoes. Viviana's pants have a hip detail that may only look flattering on slim-hipped women, but the effect reminds me of jodhpurs.

These lovely Italian tourists wear very decidedly non-tourist looking shoes.

Raylin - Market Street, SF

"I really like the print, I really like animal prints, but this is a little more subtle. It's kind of different because of the pocket. I'm actually studying fashion design."

This Banana Republic dress has the silhouette of the Jackie O dresses of yore. She looks modern (well cut garments frequently do) and nostalgic.

A look at her peep toes.

Erin - Market Street, SF

"I'm inspired by the city of San Francisco and Gwen Stefani - I like a lot of her stuff - and different eclectic moods."

I love her black pea coat, whose gold buttons and slightly 60s cut (notice how it pulls the eyes up?) still looks fresh among a sea of black.

A look at her animal print peep toe slides. I admired these shoes at Doe a few weeks ago.
