Joshua - Magic Marketplace, Las Vegas

"I'm probably most inspired by the 60s, I'm not sure my entire aesthetics though. Lou Reed, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and anything that is the 60s and below, actually."

Joshua carefully skirts the inspiration question by referencing icons, best known for their performances in the 70s, but who technically started their careers in the late 60s. It also puts his fashion inspiration during that uncertain period of time when the US was mired in that sticky Vietnam War. Fashion was uncertain too, but Joshua looks like he is well-versed in putting together an outfit that captures an idea of the era. I like his short trench and the fact that he looks like he's a member of the crew from The Life Aquatic, who just happens to be on shore leave.

His black shoes, worn to green tips. Have I mentioned how I like shoes that look like they've been worn? Don't get me wrong, I admire those who are able to keep their shoes pristine, but I like life and personality in clothes and shoes. So, to me, scuffs and scratches and other signs of wear give articles a stamp of personality.
