Philip - Maker Faire, San Mateo, CA

"Really nothing. I guess, most of the stuff (the shirt and the bag) I find at thrift stores. Basically I combine cheap stuff with more nicer current stuff."

I really like his high v-neck, it seems low v-necks (in shirts at least) are popular now, but I like the look of the high v. The print on his vintage shirt was also calling out to me. By pairing it with the sweater (and tucking the collar in), he took away the inherent 70s nature of the shirt.

Nice structured man bag.

Oh how I *heart* the witty.

Please tell me that a man wearing a grammar badge said "more nicer" in a contextually witty way. Or that this is a typo.

I love your blog.

@kate - ha-ha! it isn't a typo. i try to be accurate with people's words (i record video), but i also give people a break with spoken vernacular. i'm probably screwing up the punctuation, maybe i should have written "more - nicer" or "more; nicer" - alas!

Hey, that's me! I don't doubt that I misspoke; I sometimes get a bit flustered and talk faster than I think, especially regarding subjects about which I know very little! My verbal blunders are rarely this ironic, though...

There was one thing I failed to mention: the "man purse" is actually a camera bag. I just don't care for the proper (and expensive) bags the camera companies make, and wanted something a bit more vintage. My pictures (shameless plug) from the Maker Faire are here:http://www.flickr.com/photos/goutroy/

I've bookmarked your blog, and look forward to more pictures of SF people!
