These women sell lottery tickets by the roadside. I really (unironically) like how they mix bright colors and patterns.

I like how well they complement each other, both patterned bottoms and accents like her red Wayfarers and red neck scarf.

"My sister's wardrobe. Yes, she just left for Vancouver, she left me a bunch of stuff, so a lot of it's her's. And otherwise I just love reading magazines, so I guess it just comes from myself."

Rosie looks great in her bright tights, trench and minidress.


Rosie does a great job of making high boots seem wearable for day. I like how she pairs it with bright tights and over knee socks to extend the line.

Christian is wrong, he knows clothes, he understands fit and proportions; that's really 75% of it.

Another example of how a few elements and proportions can make a casual outfit have a little more style. I really like his militaristic jacket because it has interesting elements, epaulets that are unnecessary, zippers and a slightly different silhouette. I also like how he bunches his tight, but probably too long jeans.

A nice zip-up jacket, an interesting button-down shirt, good hair and simple spare shoes are sometimes all it takes to look unfussily put together.

I love it when I see bright colors together, especially without patterns à la color blocking. (Though to be honest, I hardly do it because I mostly wear patterns.)

Looking a bit like a hunter in an urban jungle, it's the hat (though practical in 90 degr. F weather) that makes Martino a standout on Le Loi.

Tasha: "My style, right now it's not interesting, it's for an interview. But normally I'm inspired by bright colors, all sorts of fun things, vintage clothing, corduroy."
Yohann: "This is a bike courier style."

I love how Tasha looks with her corduroy blazer, pedal pushers (!) and sea foam green knit socks. She's so very cute and he is a good counterbalance looking the part of the typical bike courier.

"That's a good question. I did not think about it before I dressed, well... (I'm not good in English) I like my legs to be (visually) skinny, I like my neck to be enlaced - can I say that? So something comfortable on the top and toning on the legs."

Anthony has on the most incredible one-piece vest/ scarf with a hood, purchased on his last trip to Japan. His layers of black: leather jacket, tunic shirt and jeans are also spot on.


Not to mention the black snakeskin Adidas shell toes.

Tricia - 24th Street, SF

In her favorite color, the lovely and expectant Tricia of bits and bobbins and wardrobe_remix joined me for tea at a cafe in the Mission District. Of course, Tricia has graced fashionist many times before. She embodies what I love most about fashion: individuality, interesting silhouettes, pattern, color and a strong diy aesthetic.
