Isabella - Hayes Street, SF

"To express myself."

I like how she wears her proportions, the swing coat and wide-legged pants have a carefree yet stylized feel.

Jeanine - SFO BART Station, Millbrae (Quick Shots)

Spotted Jeanine while I was waiting for BART. Her feather headband/fastener looks great, especially with her mix of stripes and dots.

Dana - Haight Street, SF

"I just like the 70s era. It's pretty much my comfort zone, the 70s, so everything I own either alludes to vintage or is vintage."

I like her burgundy leather jacket and how she wears it with grays and her chili pepper (the Pantone color of 2007) leather handbag.

A look at her shoes and the cool fabric of her trousers.

Krista - Hermann Street, SF

"Probably the weather."

I like how her striped tights look with her shoes. It's like - Party south of the Equator!

A closer look at that combo.

Sarah - Haight Street, SF

"I think the '70s, I'm really into '70s fashion and culture. I guess kind of the way my mom dressed before she had me and my sister."

I love her sweater and her thick tights with the cut-out design.

Happy Holidays!

Here's hoping you and yours are having a great holiday season!

I'm in Andover, Massachusetts (a Boston suburb) visiting my sister and her family. We'll return to our regularly scheduled fashionist photos upon return to San Francisco tomorrow.

Update: My luggage has been waylaid in Philadelphia with an important-to-my-posts recording device and uploading thing-a-ma-jig, so I'm taking an extra day of not posting. Here's hoping it will be here tomorrow.

Sheena - Fillmore Street, SF

"I'm really inspired by '60s, '70s and mixing it up with things that I see around the city and other people's style. I try to make it my own."

I love her pale yellow trench and how she accessorizes with the scarf, the brooch and her earrings. Sheena looks great head to toe, I've taken a photo of her before, during fashionist's nascent period.

Celeste - Market Street, SF

"I really enjoy the "1940s movie star" type of thing, not normally what I would wear every day, but..."

I like her simple wrap coat, it has beautiful lines, and her covet-worthy red leather satchel.

Savannah and Amit - Powell Station, SF

Savannah: "I work at a store (in Toronto), so whatever comes in that I like, I take."
Amit: "Color."

I like that though they seem casual and comfortable they've both incorporated a good amount of color into their outfits. It was candy for my retinas.

Fernando - Market Street, SF

"My style, in general, is just to stand out."

I'm a bit in love with his Alexander McQueen cardigan, so cleverly worn as a jacket with shirt and tie. Look at those sleeves and the buttons! I also like that he lets the proportions shine by keeping everything in gray tones.

Megan - Hermann Street, SF

"I guess montage, pastiche, mix and match."

I like her head scarf worn with her small parka and brown wool trousers.

A look at her hard leather handbag.

And, of course, her shoes.

Eva - Haight Street, SF

"I guess, I'd just say warmth. I just got off work. I have a cool wolf shirt underneath. I just wanted to be comfortable and boyish."

Eva is actually one of the first people I took a photo of when fashionist was still in stealth mode. It's great to see she is consistently fashionable. I love her blue jacket worn with her patterned purple scarf and great boots.

A look at her hard leather handbag.

Her decidedly awesome boots.

Lorraine always gets it right. She's particularly great about accessories, check out her big leaf pendant.

Craig and Mai Ling - Post Street, SF

Craig: "It's kinda cold and she inspires me in everything."
Mai Ling: "This outfit? Definitely layers for the warmth and the 70s, there's always good fashion from the 70s."

I really like how adept they both are at layering their outfits for weather appropriate, yet stylish effect. (Okay Mai Ling, in particular, looks great with her long belted cardigan under her coat, over her dress.)

Sarah and Molly - Golden Gate Park, SF

Sarah: "I guess what inspires my fashion is my parents because I'm multi-ethnic, so my style is eclectic. I like vintage and new stuff too and my shoes are also from eBay."
Molly: "I like a lot of modern fashion mixed with classic vintage, so I don't know what inspires this outfit, but that's how I usually try to dress. I got these [shoes] from eBay."

I like that they are both wearing color (it was such a gray day) and I had a bit of a crush on Molly's Gladiator sandals (especially worn with that leather jacket).

Gil - Valencia Street, SF

"My style, it changes from week to week. I like Freddie Burudi, he designed/dressed David Bowie a lot in the early 70s. I like Marc Bolan's style, he's from T.Rex. Today I just woke up at some girl's house and I just grabbed what was around and I didn't wash my hair, so I had to buy a hat."

I love his overall style, his striped velvet pants, scarf, leather jacket, boots, eyeliner and that hat. Everything looks perfect on him.
