Christopher and Carlos - Market Street, SF

Christopher: "My Dad."
Carlos: "I just like fashion."

How great is Christopher's overcoat? With unfinished edges to boot. And Carlos looks great with his slim cut suit, pink shirt and striped tie.

Their shoes.

Meredith - Market Street, SF

"This is actually all vintage from Painted Bird. This particular outfit is inspired by vintage, so '50s style."

I like her belted coat and her monotone outfit, accented with those buttery leather boots.

Lovely fringe hobo bag.

Slight Delay

It started with a whirring sound. Nothing dramatic (I hoped), but by the next day the hard drive failed. I back up once a month, but I recently emptied video and 2 weeks of shooting onto the hard drive, I hadn't thought to back up yet. Damn. There were at least 2 dozen photos for posts and videos too. :(

A new computer has been bought and I hope to send the hard drive off to attempt recovery, in the meantime, I'll try to shoot again. I'm feeling under the weather and things might be slow going. Please bear with me. Thank you.

Bryanna - Stockton Street, SF

"I guess having timelessness with my look, having everything match and being cohesive."

A great coat, feather headband and lovely shoes with thigh-high stockings. This is a great not yet warm, but still Spring outfit. (And she looks wonderful.)

Her lovely feather headband, a photo that the generous Maggie Mason took for me (because Bryanna is tall and I am not).

A nice leather bag.

Gorgeous wingtip oxfords.

Avienne - Stockton Street, SF

"I definitely try to be kind of mature. I like to be modest, but fashionable. Like I feel covered, but at the same time cute, so I don't like to feel that I have to be revealing to be fashionable."

I like the proportions on her outfit. The black top and shorts extend out a seemingly uniform amount from her denim jacket. There's a nice visual symmetry.

Nice t-strap Mary Janes and lace-like stockings.

Jenny and Christopher - Dolores Park, SF

Jenny: "History. Well-made clothes from history."
Christopher: "The English Countryside."

Fabulousness in the park for Easter Sunday. A lovely silk slip on her and tweed on him (with corset).

Their shoes and stockings are particularly fetching.

Alicia and Emett - Stockton Street, SF

Alicia: "Traveling, we spent the whole night on the bus from down south (Orange)."
Emett: "Expense, I think it cost like $1.50 (for the whole outfit)."

Sometimes (most times), I take people's pictures because I like the way they carry themselves in the world, even if it may not be evident to others why I find them stylish. They wear or carry items that make them standout, like Alicia's necklace or Emett's hat or their red suitcase.

Lovely vintage suitcase.

Keds and Converse - classic.

Ashton and Jamie - Stockton Street, SF

Ashton: "Comfort, the weather for the sun dress and the boots are comfortable."
Jamie: "Comfort and safari style."

These Salt Lake City visitors look great with their sun dresses, matching glass pendants, big sunnies and cool shoes.

I *heart* Ashton's denim boots, they look so very fabulous and Jamie's animal print flats are lovely.

Laurel - Dolores Park, SF

"I knew I wanted to get a pouffy dress for Easter and I tried on like 100 and none of them felt right except for this one and it has pockets. And the yellow (underskirt) was too good to pass up, so I got that."

I love her orange dress.

Great looking t-strap Mary Janes.

Happy Easter!

Mark - Market Street, SF

"It's really fashion forward, I love the argyle print and the shoes just give it that little seal of approval."

Liking the white argyle and black suit.

A look at his aforementioned white shoes.

Katie - Stockton Street, SF

"Nothing really. I just put it together this morning. I didn't know what else to wear. I like to put together colors that really go with neutral colors."

Lovely color mixing with an element of sexy via her patent red peep toes.

Those sexy red peep toes.

Ashley and Louis - Market Street, SF

Ashley: "Thrift stores, whatever pops out at me inspires me. I'm eclectic."
Louis: "Psychedelic rock-n-roll, love, sex."

Umm, all white suit in the middle of the afternoon, pre-Memorial Day? I admire those who take risks. Also, Ashley's dress is very cute and worn with a belt, very much an aesthetic that I like.

Elizabeth - Stockton Street, SF

"Pretty much comfort and a little bit quirky city life that goes on."

I like her chunky cardigan worn with a denim chambray dress. I'm glad she wore an interesting belt to bring in the silhouette of the A-line dress.

Very cute clutch in vintage fabric.

A look at her boots.

Jo - Third Street, SF

"Well probably the hat, well I'm a little embarrassed about it because it's real fur, but I got it at a thrift store so I figure, it's not as... And I really like it, I thought I had one like it when I was a little kid. I like to raid my Mom's old clothes, so I'm wearing this under lace shirt is her's and the vest is a hand-me-down from my Aunt and I just like to get stuff from their old closets and put it together."

I like her hat and how her yellow vest peeks out from her coat. I also like the gray and yellow color combo of the outfit underneath her coat.

Simple blue velvet Chinatown Mary Janes.

Jill - 18th Street, SF

"I just wear a lot of vintage stuff. I like a lot of 60s and 70s things."

It's been ten months since I last saw Jill, but she still dresses fabulously. Her trench is the perfect length and see how her floral skirt peeks out a few inches below?

And her red heels? Pretty great.

Tetsuo - Powell Street Turnaround, SF

"This jacket is Martin Margiela, these shoes Jill Sander."

I'm sort of in love with his jacket. I love Martin Margiela, so it isn't surprising, but the length, the collar, and off-center zipper are pretty divine.

A nice understated version of a man bag.

Hello Jill Sander trainers.
