Chris - 18th Street, SF

chrismoore"I like to combine punk aesthetics with French New Wave."

I like the proportions on Chris: his snug and small pea coat, his jeans, fitting, but not too tight. And I like the novelty that a suitcase is his merse.

Sydney - Dolores Street, SF

sydney"Generally the 90s, floral, Blossom, grunge rock. That's pretty much it."

I admire a woman that follows the ethos of wearing normal cute clothes to bike. Also, those over the knee socks are cute and practical.

Love these suede wingtips.

Skeet - 18th Street, SF

skeet18

You've seen Skeet before. He's one of my well dressed neighbors (nice blue shirt, white denim) and he plays in the Mindless Things, a garage-y band, which is fortunate since he dresses the part well. This time I left out a shot of his Converse, since he frequently wears them.

Heidi: "Um, I would say Paris."
Sarah: "A fun Sunday with an old friend. Saturday!"

Friends strolling with ice cream and cute shoes. Also loving Heidi's dress and coat.

Sara - 18th Street, SF

laryngitis

Sara has laryngitis, but she still kindly stopped to pose for me. I like her tweed skirt and her gold leaf like earrings and the thematic matching leaf brooch on her coat.
laryngitis_closeup

Her boots are faux lace-up boots, but the faux laces don't extend up the entire boot, it's like it gave up at 10 holes.

Alexis - 18th Street, SF

"I really like vintage wool things and things that just feel homey. And I like eclectic things, I like a lot of... I like jewelry, like antique pieces. Just things that are simple and really nice and beautiful."

I like her duo of gold chains with charms on them, her double breasted blazer with 3/4 sleeves, and her beautiful Saks Fifth Avenue skirt (see the rosette at the waist!).

"The Midwest, that's where I'm from."

I like how she pairs gray and fuchsia for a shock of color on an overcast day.

Charmmie - Minna Street, SF

charmmie"I guess the mix of old and new, just the typical answer. I love a bright color piece and everything else pretty much muted, so the cardigan was the main center piece and I worked off of that. I wanted black and gray and just a brown to offset it. I don't want to be a walking rainbow lady."

Love that seafoam green cardi/blazer and that so delicate it looks like it might disintegrate Ben Sherman printed tie-blouse. Her hoop earrings and brown handbag cast an early 80s vibe onto the outfit, her black booties bring it back to modern day.

Conchetta - Third Street, SF

conchetta"I would just say the City, White House|Black Market 'cause that's where I work and a lot of different fashion magazines... And you know trying anything; music."

I'm always pro mid-day glamour. Seriously, look at the sequins on the bodice of her jumper. Also? That large handbag (small suitcase) is a beauty.

Jillian - Valencia Street, SF

"I guess I like to be comfortable and ... I don't really know. I just threw it on."

Something very Ali McGraw in Love Story about her trench and striped turtleneck. The addition of the vintage fur collar is a nice touch.

"The weather. I knew it was gonna rain today, so I wanted something with a hood."

That tucked in floral scarf, those cerulean jeans, that wind defying jacket with hood - perfect.

Charlie - Valencia Street, SF

"I actually moved here from New York (where I used to work in an art gallery) and I just developed this style, I don't where it originates from."

Black and white with cardigan and tie. Check out how he pulls his cuffs out and rolls them onto the wristband of his cardi.

Jamie - South Van Ness Avenue, SF

Jamie wears perfectly washed out hues and a pale yellow looped scarf. See how the blue of her crisp cotton dress is almost exactly the color of the sky.

Karanina - South Van Ness Avenue, SF

karanina
"Thrift stores and consumerism."

I like the shot of yellow in visual contrast to her mostly black and white ensemble. And I think it's the striped shirt, but there is something very Tatou's version of Coco Chanel about her (see below).
karanina_clsoeup

Cute black flats that takes a nod towards crocodile leather.

Jillian - South Van Ness Avenue, SF

jillian
"Vintage chic."

There is an element of day glamor to Ms. Jillian that I dig. Like she's a real life version of Tom Ford's Gucci when he took Gucci and added a sheen of sexy to every outfit. Yes! Jillian is what the 80s inspired to be, but never got quite right; she knows how to put it all together.
jillian_closeup

Heeled loafers, snaps(?)/grommets(?) on her jeans (that match the ones on her wrist) and a small vintage handbag.
