Mark and Daniel Keith - Dolores Street, SF

greywhite
Mark: "We just ran out of the house."
Daniel Gene: "We just kind of woke up."

I like the sleekness of this uniform they both seem to be wearing. Stretched out tank (check), slim fitting pants/shorts (check), silver chain with not too small, nor too large pendant (check), and boots loosely laced with tongue prominent (check). If you've been perusing fashionist for awhile, you know I have a soft spot for urban uniforms and people who hang out together dressing in a complementary fashion.

Those aforementioned boots, hiding in the grass, but they're there.

Jen: "A sense of leisure."
Drew: "I guess an urban porn chic."

I love it when women get the menswear look right.

Notice how their shoes match their respective belts and suspenders? Pretty stylin', huh?

David and Jessica - 18th Street, SF

davidjessica
David: "Being David."
Jessica: "Damn. Cut. I don't know. My house."

I've had a recent appreciation of the increasing adornment of denim in all shapes and forms. Friend/blogger Wendy even had a few posts about how all over denim was catching on as a fashion phenom. May I submit David as further proof? Also, Jessica's shorts are to die for.

Wearing shoes of now, David has these great short white boots and Jessica is wearing the shoes of spring, clog mules.

"This outfit is nautical themed today. 50s nautical themed."

Cute simple white cotton dress, so sweetly accessorized with large locket, cocktail ring and black ribbon.

Red sling-back peep toes in perforated leather. So ready for spring.

Carla - 18th Street, SF

"I guess just daily life inspires my style. As well as magazines. I'm a stylist, so I shop all the time and I dress mannequins, so I do the visual styling. So I see it all the time. Just a compilation of everything I see."

Sort of loving the tiger tube dress.

Lisa - 18th Street, SF

18lisa
"Nothing really inspires my fashion, I'm kind of retarded when it comes to it. So, I just go with what I initially like, impulse is key."

Maybe it won't surprise you that Lisa has been the proprietess of Haight-Ashbury Tattoo and Piercing since 2003. Despite her claims towards fashion ineptitude, I'm loving her one-piece chambray jummpsuit. I find anything denim/chambray to be on-trend these days. Also? Cute big gold hoops.

A look at her Fun Steps (thanks Anon in comments!).

amichelle
"Comfort and great fabrics."

Great jumpsuit by Isabel Marant. I love how she accessorizes with thin gold hoops, a thin gold chain, and aviators with a touch of gold. This lady has style in spades!

Desiree - Precita Park, SF

desireesc"What inspires my style is my feelings. So however I feel when I wake up on a given day, I'm thinking about what colors I feel like wearing and if I feel like wearing a dress or pants. What shoes I want to wear. So it's inspired by the weather or how I'm feeling."

Something tough, modern, and militaristic happening here with the combo of the denim dress, jeans, and boots.

Demitra - Dolores Park, SF

demitra
"I like to be comfortable. Really whatever feels right for the weather."

I love this short jumpsuit. I have a thing for one pieces in general. She's styled herself so cutely with that braided headband and those lace tights too.
demitra_closeup

Yes, I would definitely wear this, shoes included, but would change the headband color to stand out (seeing as I have black hair). Demitra looks great!

Candice and Kimy - Magic Marketplace, Las Vegas

twomm
Candice: "What inspires me is; I'm very eclectic and I love color. So I love mixing different colors and texture all together and I guess a little bit of bohemian/pretty, like pretty girl. And then yeah, so…"
Kimy: "I love plaid, I guess."

A motley mixture of color and texture. Oh my!

Allie - Dolores Park, SF

allie
"I'm just into things that are comfortable, that are cute, that express who I am."

If Diana came out of the woods wielding a bow and arrow and riding a big stead, I imagine she might be wearing something like this.
allie_closeup

I'm not sure if Allie is ready to kick ass with her boots, but she looks it, and that's half the battle.

Katherine - Dolores Street, SF

katherinedp
"I would say Audrey Hepburn is a big style icon for me, Jane Birkin. I admire the look of those older French film stars. That older style, I think."

Ah, grace personified, Katherine's bearing matches her dress and the loveliness of her outfit. Who brings a clutch to the park? A lady who knows the value of getting it perfectly right. That's who.

Anastasia - Dolores Park, SF

anastasiadp
"This outfit, I guess Peru and Molly Ringwald."

I totally see it. I also see a spark that reminds me of the 2004 Amy Winehouse. Remember her? She was sexy and healthy. Anastasia looks super cute, wearing the tight tank dress look in the best way possible.
anastasiadp_closeup

Cute booties.

Raquel and Courtney - Dolores Park, SF

raquelcourtney
Raquel: "Well, I'm kinda living out of a car right now. Staying wherever, so I don't have that much clothes, so whatever I brought is what I wear."
Courtney: "Well it's cheap. I like to buy things that are cheap. And comfy. I just like them."

I like the yin-yang nature of their outfits and dyed hair colors. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but they're almost the opposite on the color wheel, so their is something slightly off, but yet totally balanced about their outfits. Especially when viewed in the context of the other.

Jean - Dolores Park, SF

jeandp
"Definitely movies. French Nouvelle Vague - I love Godard movies. I love A Woman is a Woman."

Again, look it's red! And she's got a bow too, but in the guise of a fantastic pendant. I've taken a photo of Jean before. In 2007, but I'm currently updating from HCMC, Vietnam and the spotty internet doesn't lend itself to searching for the post. I'm pretty sure though. She's a great example of how to wear clothes that are new, but have a retro feel. Yes? Yes!
