I like the proportions on her outfit. The black top and shorts extend out a seemingly uniform amount from her denim jacket. There's a nice visual symmetry.

Sometimes (most times), I take people's pictures because I like the way they carry themselves in the world, even if it may not be evident to others why I find them stylish. They wear or carry items that make them standout, like Alicia's necklace or Emett's hat or their red suitcase.

I love humor in clothes. Walking around SF, I usually encounter black upon black, so it was nice to come upon Holly and Kurt who seemed to be dressed in fully realized outfits from 1984. They seemed perfect for a day of shopping in Union Square.


Their shoes give their modern sensibilities away. Holly is wearing a lovely pair of modern huaraches, which a bit more delicate than their predecessors. And Kurt is wearing a pair of monk strap dress shoes, I think he'd wear men's tassel moccasins if he was dated.

"This is my Gucci work uniform, but I accessorize it to make it my own. I wear my belt high waisted rather than through the loops of my pants. I layer this little YSL sweater over it, which isn't our uniform, but it's brown so no one knows. I think accessories make everything."

I have a weakness for non-black monochromatic outfits. When I spotted the glint of her bracelets, I actually crossed the street to ask if I could take her photo. I love the way she accessorizes with the high waisted thin belt, those bracelets and her very cool tote.
