Making an allowance for these Birkenstocks because they're metallic and contrast so well with her orange pedicure. Remember when Phillip Lim did a collaboration with Birkenstocks and it seemed like they might be cool, but didn't really catch on? Yeah, me neither. (My secret hope is that I will get over my aversion because they seem so comfy, but if living in Santa Cruz + Phillip Lim can't bring me over, I'm not sure what will.)

Chris has been on fashionist a number of times, it's nice to see that he's passing on the style gene (jean?) to his son, Milo. Also? It's Chris' first official Father's Day (Milo is 11 months old). Happy Fathers' Day Chris!

Say what you want, this color combination is great. Neutrals on the butterscotch-y side of brown and then a blue and red plaid sweater? He has effectively referenced an era of wide pants and large easy silhouettes, circa the 1940s. All interpreted with modern day clothing.


A look at his shoes that match his pants and yes he hemmed his own pants. I'm sure no one would usually have such a fine eye as my camera does.

"Comfort mostly, I mean obviously there's all kinds of influences. I work downtown, so I'm surrounded by everything all the time. And I feel that there are definitely trends out there that I follow. This is what I call my bag look and it is absolute pure comfort. I know that I can get up in the morning and have an entirely full day and be out all night and know I will still be comfortable."

I like her red embroidered ethnic dress (I'm very into ethnic dress right now), and something about the ease she carries herself with.
