"Usually art. I like visual art a lot, so if I see some kind of visual art thing that I like. I'm usually attracted to those colors. The darker earth colors, so yeah it's usually some kind of cool visual art thing that I like about it and then I just like to go with it."

I love her coat with the dyed green rabbit fur collar. There is something both modern and retro about this coat. Maria says she purchased aforementioned coat for about $39 in Shanghai, and that her pearl brooch (also bought in Shanghai, on her fur collar) was over $500 and a gift from her fiancee.

"My style, I think, is a mix between feminine and masculine. So I enjoy feminine shapes/ hourglass, but I like masculine textures. Like the ruffled leather (shoes) and this (dress) is a little heavier and most of my clothes - I'm an attorney, - so I have to wear suits. I try to wear them with silks. Things that are feminine, with feminine silhouettes and masculine fabrics. Kind of like that messy...Diane Kruger, I like a lot now. Messy feminine, but still sophisticated."

I like her dress, look at those lovely neckline and waist pintucks. I also like how she accessorizes with a messy ponytail and costume jewelry.

"I buy 50% vintage or used because I'm trying to work towards conservation. And I think what's tried and true is best."

I noticed her jeans first, they're cut to sit on the waist (gasp), which looks different and fresh given that jeans are usually worn low. Worn with the red/white striped shirt I felt like she was channeling 40s-era proportions.

I also like her earrings that look like lucite (but aren't she informed me) and her glasses that seemingly match. I don't think she did this deliberately, but I really like the mix and match of patterns with her graphic bag (against her striped shirt).
