Phillip and Caroline - French Legation Museum, Austin [SxSW]

Phillip: "My style is inspiration is constructivism."
Caroline: "These clothes are borrowed from my best friend Shira and I think I wore them just because of the festival."

He's got the Cali-French sailor look going on and she has the I was a teenager in the late 80's look. They look fun and perfect for the musical festivities.


I love his moccasin-esque chukkas and her sandals go with the carefree vibe of her outfit.


And with this post, I'm (finally) done with my Austin pictures. For some reason, I had no idea I took nearly 100. Whoa, right? Now I can get back to beloved SF. Have a nice night everyone!

Margot and Andria - French Legation Museum, Austin [SxSW]

Margot: "I don't know. Nothing in particular, I thought it looked great together. (Andria pipes in: "This is her Dad's shirt from the Navy in France") Yes. And Wrangler jeans that I cut myself, Urban Outfitter socks, and my Mom's cardigan."
Andria: "Just what I have or have had for million of years and just throw it together."

These ladies look skeptical, but also great, both are wearing the shorts of the season. They manage to do that without revealing too much. The tights help, as does the long cardigan, and all this without sacrificing style.


Shoes that recall the style worn at the turn of the 20th century.

Love this dress that looks a little like a girl's pinafore and a candy stripe uniform at the same time. (One can argue that the candy striper uniform was made to look like a pinafore, in which case, I'm being redundant.)

The print on this short caftan is lovely, but it's Sarah's hair that really shines! So big and blond and amazing. Those bracelets and bangles definitely puts her in the "more is more" camp.

Diamond has posted in a few months, but her blog is worth a look. Besides talking about fashion broadly and personal style specifically, she also discusses minority representation in mainstream fashion magazines. I love her mix of high and low here: the silk skirt is gorgeous and juxtaposed with the leopard print cardi and worn with the wife beater with printed Coors logo? She looks just about perfect.
